How to delete a specific table from your WordPress Database
When using WordPress, you might need to delete a specific table from your database. For instance, to completely remove traces of the Yoast plugin after uninstalling it via FTP, you need to delete tables like “yoast_indexable,” “yoast_indexable_hierarchy,” and “yoast_migrations,” among others.
(Always back up your database before deleting anything! This ensures you can restore it if something goes wrong. It’s better to be safe than sorry!)
To delete a specific table, follow these steps:
Install the Advanced Database Cleaner Plugin (a free plugin).
Go to the “Tables” tab of the plugin.
Locate the tables you want to delete from the list, and then select them.
In the “Bulk actions” menu, choose “Delete” and then click “Apply.” The selected tables will be removed.
If you have hundreds of tables and find it difficult to locate the ones you want to delete manually, the pro version of the Advanced Database Cleaner plugin offers a search feature to help you find specific tables by name. To search for particular tables, follow these steps:
Install the pro version of the Advanced Database Cleaner plugin.
Navigate to the “Tables” tab.
Enter the name or keyword you’re looking for in the “Search for” text box, then click “Filter.”
